  • Don't give up on yourself!

Some days do you just want to quit?

Perhaps, you are tired of trying and, in all probability, you’re spinning your wheels and getting nowhere. You may see other people less deserving getting ahead, and you are stuck in the same place.

Life might have gotten monotonous. Feelings of inadequacy seep into your mind. Or, a setback has caused you to fall back into old, destructive patterns. Now, you could be off-track, discouraged and your energy may be drained.

But wait. You count. Your life matters. No matter what you are going through today, God has not given up on you, so don’t give up on yourself. Decide now to get off the treadmill of negative thoughts and see beyond the present moment. God has a wonderful plan and place for you. And your future holds great promise.

Here is a fictional story by an unknown author about a man who was so dismayed, he wanted to relinquish his hopes and dreams for the future and just give up on life. He was going to quit his job, his relationships, his hobbies, and abandon his walk with God, settling for the status quo.

But, before renouncing it all, the man decided that he was going to take a walk in the forest by his home to have one last talk with God.

As he set out that autumn morning, the dry leaves and twigs cracked under his boots, and he heard the sweet songs of birds in the distance. He walked further. The fresh air caressed his face. And he glanced up at the clouds overhead and spoke aloud, “God, can you give me one good reason not to quit?”

There was a brief pause. Then, the man heard the gentle, yet powerful voice of God.

“Look around the forest,” God instructed. “Do you see the fern and the bamboo?” He questioned.

Startled, the man looked to the right and the left. “Yes, God, I do,” the man answered with a half-smile.

“When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them both. I gave them sunlight and fresh water. And the fern grew quickly. Its beautiful, lush green leaves covered the ground. Yet, not anything came from the bamboo seed. But I did not give up on the bamboo,” God said.

“The second year, the fern grew even more plentiful. And again, the bamboo seed was dormant. Still, I did not give up on the bamboo.”

The man reached into his pocket and grabbed a tissue and dabbed his eyes, as God explained, “In year three, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. However, I didn’t quit. The same in year four,” God uttered.

With understanding and humble remorse over how wrong he had been, the man closed his eyes for a moment. And God continued, “Then, in the fifth year, a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern, it was seemingly insignificant. But months later, the bamboo rose to more than 100 feet tall. It had spent five years growing roots, and those roots made the bamboo strong, giving it what it needed to survive in the forest.”

Thereafter, God whispered to the man, “Did you know, my child, that all this time you have actually been growing roots? I would not give up on the bamboo, and I will never give up on you.

“It doesn’t matter how impossible your situation appears to be or how long it takes, your time of victory will come,” God encouraged. “You will rise high. You will flourish. So don’t quit, and give me glory, by rising as high as you can.”

The man left the forest that day and slowly made his way back home. With his head held high, and a renewed strength, the man felt surrounded by God’s love. He realized that God would never give up on him. And, dear readers, God will never give up on you, either.

Your life is full of countless possibilities. You have too much yet to do, too many lives to positively influence and too many dreams to make manifest to quit now. Your time for victory, too, is coming. So whatever may be troubling you, turn it all over to God and progress ahead. There is no obstacle too big for God to turn around for your greater good. He is working right now on your behalf and is “going before you and making the crooked places straight.” (Isaiah 45:2-3).

Therefore, stand in faith and say, “I am not going to give up. I’m moving forward with God,” and “I’ll become all that God intends for me to be.” God hasn’t brought you this far to leave you here. He is about to do something greater than you can ever imagine. So, continue your pursuit. Don’t stop now. And keep on going.

In the Bible, reads this story about the Prodigal Son. A father had two sons and the younger son asked his father to give him his portion of his inheritance early, from the family estate. The father granted his request and the young son set off to distant lands and begins to waste his fortune in debauchery. A famine hits the country, the young son’s money runs out, and he finds himself destitute, in horrible conditions. Finally, the young son comes to his senses and although unsure of the welcome he’d receive, returns home.

Upon seeing his son, the father who had been watching and waiting for him, ran out to greet his beloved son with opened arms and rejoiced that the son found his way back home. (Luke 15: 11-32)

Nothing could separate the son from his father’s love, and nothing can separate you from God’s love. So, persist onward, under God’s love, guidance and care. Then watch in awe as he blesses all areas of your life. And peace, joy and victory will be yours.

20 Reasons To Never Give Up

At some point in the various journeys we embark on in our lives, we get to a part where we feel like giving up. Sometimes we give up before we even start and other times we give up just before we are about to make that huge break-through that we have been putting so much effort in to achieve.

Here's a list of 20 reasons why you should never give up!

1- As Long As You Are Alive Anything Is Possible

The only valid excuse you have to give up is if you are dead. As long as you are alive (and healthy and free) you have the choice to keep trying until you finally succeed.

    2- Be Realistic

The chance of mastering something the first time you do it is almost non-existent. Everything takes time to learn and you will make mistakes. Learn from them.

    3- Michael Jordan

The best basketball player of all time. He attributes his success to all his failures. He just never gave up even when he knew he had missed over 300 shots and had missed the winning shot of the game many times. Every time he got knocked down he got back up again.

    4- Lance Armstrong

Lance was diagnosed with serious cancer that had spread throughout his entire body. He had cancer cells the size of golf balls in his lungs. Despite all odds he overcame the cancer and set out to win the Tour de France 6 Consecutive years in a row.

    5- Muhammad Ali

“Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee”. Muhammad Ali is one of the best boxers the world has ever known. He suffered only 5 losses while having 56 wins and was the first boxer to win the lineal heavyweight championship three times. This is a guy who literally knows how to get knocked down and get back up.

6- The Man Who Created The Marathon

Very long ago an Athenian herald was sent to Sparta to get help when the Persians landed in Greece. It was said that he ran 240km in 2 days and after that he ran 40km to announce the victory of the Greeks only to collapse and die on the spot from exhaustion. If you ever feel like things are difficult, imagine what it would be like to run 240km in 2 days. (Don’t try that because you might die from it, but use it as an inspiration).

7- Chris Gardner – The Pursuit of Happiness

Have you seen the movie “The Pursuit of Happiness”? A true story.....It is based on the life story of Chris Gardener, a man who went for the lowest of the lows in an environment where most people would give up (no money, no job) to the highest of the highs (A millionaire with his own investment firm). If you ever think about giving up, watch this movie!

    8- Nelson Mandela

Campaigned for justice and freedom in his South Africa. Spent 20 years in jail for his opposition to apartheid. On release he healed the wounds of apartheid by his magnanimous attitude toward his former political enemies.

    9- You Are Strong

You are stronger than you think. One little setback is not enough to stop you from achieving your goals. Neither are 10 or 100 or 1000 setbacks.

    10- Prove to Yourself

You don’t want to be known to yourself as someone that is weak and gives up. Go out there and prove yourself to the world and especially to yourself. You CAN and WILL achieve what you set out to do. The only time you fail is when you give up.

11- Has It Been Done Before?

If someone else can do it then so can you. Even if it is only one other person in the world that has achieved what you have set out to achieve, that should be reason enough for you to never give up.

    12- Believe In Your Dreams

Don’t sell yourself short. In life there are going to be many people who will try to bring you down and tell you what you want to achieve is not possible. Don’t let anyone destroy your dreams.

    13- Your Family and Friends.

Let the people you love and who mean the world to you be your inspiration to persist and persevere. Maybe you need to try a different angle, study more or practice more but don’t give up!

    14- There Are People Worse-Off

Right now there are many people who are in a worse situation and environment than you are right now. Are you thinking about giving up running 5 miles a week? Think about the people who are unable to even walk and how much they would give to be able to run 5 miles every day. (Not to be compared in a negative way).

    15- Improve Our World

When you achieve whatever you set out to achieve you can use your success to make a difference to the world or other peoples lives.

16- Get Rich - Keep trying

Face your fears and don’t take the easy way out by giving up.

    17- Let The Haters Hate

There will always be haters. There will always be plenty of naysayers and people who try to tear you down. Don’t pay attention to them and don’t take what they say to heart. Let the haters hate and you keep believing in yourself.

18- YOU Deserve The Best of Success and YOU Deserve To Be Happy

Don’t ever let anybody tell you otherwise. You deserve to be happy and you deserve to have success. Keep that mindset and never give up until you reach your destination!

    19- Inspire Others

Be an inspiration to others by refusing to give up. Who knows what someone else can achieve because you never gave up and in turn inspired them not to give up.

    20- You Are So Close

Often when you feel like you want to give up and you are about to give up you are so close to making a huge break-thru. Remember that at any given time you are always just a heartbeat away from success.

Here are 10 more great extended Reasons Why You Should NEVER Give Up!

There could be all sorts of different situations in our life when the time comes and we feel that we are about to give up. Sometimes we give up before we even started doing something new. Sometimes we give up just before making this huge breakthrough to success just because we saw how much effort should go through in order to succeed and it can really scare us. Don’t give up beforehand!

10 Reasons You Should Never Give UP

    1. Everything Is Possible

Frankly speaking and this is my personal belief that unless you are dead you have absolutely no good reason to say you cannot succeed. NO EXCUSES! You are alive! You are free to learn new ways in order to ACCOMPLISH a masterpiece plan if the previous one didn’t work out as you wished. Stop quitting your dreams. We all learn and can teach each other. We all become better at things by TRYING.

Nothing is impossible, the word itself says ‘I’m possible’! - Audrey Hepburn

    2. Get Real

Everything takes time. In order to get better at anything spend some quality time practicing. Practice makes things perfect. Screw the doubts. Practice!

Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good that we often may win. By fearing to ever attempt. – William Shakespeare

    3. Be Strong Like Oak

Believe me, you are stronger than you think. 1,2 or even 3 little failures are not enough to stop you from achieving your goals. Your goals are far greater than all of the doubts. Imagine a little oak tree. Did it stop growing every time it was facing harsh winds? NO. So why should you stop? You are alive, aren’t you? So you have no good reason to give up. Period.

Success will never be a big step in the future, success is a small step taken just now. – Jonatan Mårtensson

    4. This Was Done Before

What are your goals? Did anyone succeed before at what you are trying to achieve at now? Even if there was only one person in the world who has done what you want to do – it tells you only one thing – whatever your goal is – IT IS POSSIBLE to achieve!

    5. Be Inspired. Inspire Others

Be a living inspiration for others and refuse to give up. Who knows what someone else can achieve by listening to your motivational stories how it was tough and you were about to quit but you never caved in and succeeded! Learn from the best and make it happen! And then motivate others to go beyond their personal limits.

    6. Make It Visible

The road to success is full of challenges. Always. You have to be daring. No time to play it shy and invisible! Come out of the shadow and show yourself to the world. You can and will achieve all you want because you’ve decided to do so.

    7. The Fellowship Of Success

If you are dreaming to become a cool scuba diver, for example, and you have no one among people you communicate with who shares the same interest – that’s a good time to think about a new circle of people you need to create to benefit from it more. It’s great to be among people who share the same beliefs and goals as you are. And if your goal is to be successful – be around successful people you can learn a lot from.

As long as you are going to be thinking anyway, think big - Donald Trump

    8. Improve The World

When you accomplish everything you set out to achieve, you can use your success to make a change in the world. Individual effort makes a huge difference. If you can change the world of one person, you can change the world.

    9. Again YOU deserve to be happy

Do not ever let anyone tell you otherwise. You deserve happiness and success. Keep this attitude way up high and never give up until you reach your destination.

    10. You are so close…

There are loads of people out there eager to tell you that the goals you put for yourself on the map are impossible to achieve due to their own limiting beliefs. But who are they to decide and set YOUR LIMITS? Often when you feel that you are about to give up you are the closest to making a huge breakthrough! At any point of time you’re always just on the verge of success. Keep going until you hit your gold mine! Never give up!
