SMALL TALK - UPDATES AND MORE.........

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign to increase awareness of the disease. While most people are aware of breast cancer, many forget to take the steps to have a plan to detect the disease in its early stages and encourage others to do the same.

CONTINUOUSLY GET YOUR EXAMS WOMEN!!!!! MEN GET YOUR ROUTINE CHECK-UPS ALSO.

When breast cancer is detected early (localized stage), the 5-year survival rate is 98%.

    WHAT IS CANCER?

Breast cancer is a group of cancer cells (malignant tumor) that starts in the cells of the breast.

    BREAST CANCER FACTS

Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women.

    ABOUT MALE BREAST CANCER

All people, whether male or female, are born with some breast cells and tissue that have the possibility to develop into cancer. However, breast cancer in men is rare, with only about 2,190 diagnoses each year.

Those of you who have lost your dearest loved ones to cancer of any kind, when thoughts of your loved ones come to mind while you are publicly, silently or privately grieving as if something has pierced through your hearts, I pray that God Almightys help, comfort, break through and love along with the help, comfort, love and understanding coming from family and friends, help you with ease to make it through those very emotional time periods. And I also pray that with great joy you make sure that your loved ones are continuously remembered in the most cherishable loving peaceful as well as loud (depending on the type of unique person they were) and precious way. Precious memories that are left behind, are meant to live on forever in our hearts and minds once shared with you and with others. I, Martha Wooden do understand and realize when the date or month comes around for the first second third fourth and even 10th time, the date when you may have lossed your loved one, this can set off into motion or trigger deep down within many emotional feelings that may result to at times being of negative or positive emotions or having a mix of both. Although there is nothing wrong with periodic grieving, life must continue on for you that are still living, but with the sincere knowing and accepting that you will never see your deceased loved one ever again in the flesh here on earth. So yes, life does and should continue to go on for you, while being at peace. It is okay , normal and human to periodically grieve, but be sure to continue to cherish those precious memories of their lives once lived. If your emotions during the grieving period become too overbearing and get out of control, please be sure to seek that much needed wise help so that you can get pass those overbearing grieving periods. Precious cherishable memories forever living deep in your hearts and minds, once shared with you and those very close.

AGAIN, THANK GOD (HIP HIP HOORAY) FOR THE MILLIONS OF CANCER SURVIVORS! LIVE ON I SAY, I COMMAND YOU ALL TO LIVE JOYFULLY ON........I PRAY THAT NO FORM OF ANY TYPE OF CANCER WILL RETURN TO THEIR HEALTHY ENERGETIC PRECIOUS HAPPY BODIES. IN JESUS NAME I PRAY, I DECLARE IT AND I DECREE IT, AMEN!

    SALVATION ARMY FUNDRAISING EVENT UPDATE

The Scholarship Fundraising Event which took place on Sunday October 19, 2014, at the KROC Salvation Army located in the east Phoenix area, 1375 E. Broadway Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85040, which was hosted, created and organized by the LOVE IMAGES ORGANIZATION which PRESENTED LAMAR CAMPBELL AND THE ARIZONA COMMUNITY CHOIR and others was an AWESOME EVENT, to Raise scholarship funds for women. The place was filled with lots of supporters. The main attraction was Lamar Campbell and the Arizona Community Choir, which I was a part of. All of the other performances were so very great, but the Lamar Campbell and Arizona Community Choir which was the last performance was indeed the very best. While waiting in the back for our turn to sing we didn't get the opportunity to watch the other artists who participated in the event, perform. We weren't able to watch or be a part of the entire event as the supporters and spectators were. But we did hear the performances through the speaker system while in our waiting room area. It was an excellent and awesome event for a much needed and worthy cause. I was among very professional, well endowed and gifted singers, I blended right in. I was not at all intimidated by anyone had no reason to be, although these people could saaaaaang. So very grateful to have been given the opportunity to be closely associated with such warm-hearted and extremely talented people whom all came together for a much needed and worthy cause. Wouldn't have missed out on this amazing opportunity for nothing in the world. Had an awesome awesome time and it was so very great to see the supporters and spectators that came out, being greatly blessed while greatly enjoying the event. Looking forward to doing more with everyone involved as well as with the LOVE IMAGES ORGANIZATION. A lot of good things going on always. Be sure to again come out to give your support for furture events that may be posted on this website in a RYM-TYM BLOG (the events that are open to the public).

My Mom and my 2 sisters have arrived from Chicago to Phoenix Arizona to visit with my family and I for a week and have now returned back to Chicago........... My mom and my older sister flew back on this past Saturday afternoon and my younger sister flew back on this past Sunday evening. They greatly enjoyed their stay. We had lots of fun and I ate lots of food with them. I may have gained about 5 or 10lbs. or maybe more while they were here, although we were moving all over the place, but I still believe that I gained some lbs. I refuse to get on the scale to see for sure. Their accomodations were very comfortable. They were welcomed with plenty of sunshine in Phoenix, AZ and 80 - 90 degree weather in the month of October, how nice! Not very happy to see them go, but their lives are in Chicago and Indiana. My younger sister is planning to return maybe during this Thanksgiving Holiday, but she will most definitely be coming back to visit during the Superbowl at the beginning of next year. My younger sister is planning to move here next year in July. I have been living here in Arizona now with my family for 8 years, with all of my family still living on the east coast, so I am not sure how to respond to her maybe moving out here. Just being honest, I love her dearly, sincerely and very deeply........but.............by the time next year come I may feel different about it, although I haven't shared how I may feel about it now. I didn't move out here to AZ for others to necessarily follow, but to visit yes. Is that funny acting on my part? I enjoyed my MOM and my TWO SISTERS visit a great deal!!! Felt my tireness come down on me on Saturday when it was time for my MOM and Big sister to leave. Took a little break and relaxed more after they left, ended up missing out on going to the Jazz festival with my younger sister later on that Saturday. Her friend ended up getting the tickets for $30 with fourth row seats, I could have hung but decided to take a relaxation break, wish that I would have gone, oh well, I will have next year.

So very proud of my baby girl (my teenage daughter) JOY MONAY PEREZ, she has ALL A's for her first year at Thunderbird High School attending as a freshman for her first set of grades earned. She received the highest grade percentage and grade average throughout the entire freshman class at Thunderbird High School for English. Joy loooooves school, she does her homework without any problems and always on her own, without me needing to remind her, although I do at times anyway, because that is just what I do as her MOM. Joy loves her new school and I am so very glad, I knew she eventually would. I would admit that I was a bit concerned about her at first, because she was very upset over the summer about not being able to attend the same High School as some of her friends whom she has known for up to 7 years and with whom she has attended the same school with since moving here to Arizona, from Chicago from 1st grade to 8th grade. Joy does still keep in contact with her long time friends and they plan times to hang out with each other going to the movies, rock climbing and doing other fun things. Things changed and she had no other choice but to be separated from them, in which I did feel so very bad, but was also very excited all at the same time, after realizing that we were surrounded by some of the greatest schools in the area. I felt very concerned because she wasn't handling the change very well at all. But thank God all is so very well with her now and she has greatly adjusted and while the adjusting it didn't effect her learning, her determination, her drive, her loooooove for school and for learning, her focus nor her grades. We made it through the doubt and the rough patches that may have existed. THANK GOD!!!! She loves all of her classes, she likes her teachers and she is still a very competitive young girl whom I have always known her to be, beating out all the girls in her gym class during sporting activities. She's taking a jazz class where she plays the drums, learning how to play the lyrics by reading musical notes. Shes learning how to speak spanish fluently. She has an honors math class, the school accepted her math credits from Kings Ridge although Thunderbird is not a Phoenix District High school, they are a part of another school District which is Glendale, hooray they accepted her math credits, inspite of!!! She has excellent opportunities before her and I always try to encourage her to take advantage of all of them. She may not be able to be in more than one place at the same time, but she can participate in unlimited activities and classes that will all be greatly worth it now and for her future. Joy is so very humble. So very proud of her as always. Teaching her and her brother to make and take the best out of anything and everything, before deciding to ever give up or give in. Quitting, not trying and lacking should never be an option. Basketball season is coming up, hopefully Joy will make the team, tryouts is on Monday, she didn't participate in the open gym for preparation for basketball which was to condition the girls, hopefully all will be well during tryouts.

Although Joy has been an exceptional, intelligent student all of her life of attending school, I have to give credit to all of the schools that Joy has attended, which were good schools, since pre-4. I especially have to give credit to Riverside and Kings Ridge which she has attended for 7 years of her young school life. They were not the very best of schools, but because they were run by Administrative staff and teachers who truly cared, Joy did get what she could use now and what she may have needed. These two school most definitely became much better Schools. I salute Administrative staff and teachers for doing an excellent job at working together with each other, with parents and especially with the students that needed that extra support. I greatly appreciate everyone involved for caring deep enough to create an impact that turned things completely around heading upwards in the right direction. Creating a calm, safe, warm and fun learning environment for the students especially which made me as Joy's parent feel at eased. A job well done. So very proud to have come across such great people. Looking forward to much bigger and much better things for both my children. A very proud MOM of both my kids! Moving full speed ahead, while being in deep thought, but not moving too fast.
